Spring Summer 2012 Fashion Campaigns

I love a fresh, new campaign. The Spring Summer collective is always pleasant with their charming use of brighter colour and print, so this time of year when they all start to fill the pages of our glossies is thrilling for me! I'm not one of those people who complains about all the ads in magazines, it's the main reason I buy them. Here's a round up of the hottest campaigns around for Spring Summer 2012.

Shot by Mark Segal for Louis Vuitton's luxurious Cruise '12 collection, this campaign features model Arizona Muse in some of Louis' most desirable gear for your average billionaire jet-setter. Quite a lengthy campaign full of beautiful images, Arizona's natural beauty shines through with no heavy make-up or taming and the apparel complements it wonderfully.

The first preview of Lanvin's Spring Summer 2012 campaign arrived in my inbox today, always a welcome treat. The above image was captured by Steven Meisel and features models Aymeline Valade, Marte Mei van Haaster, Aaron Vernon and Angus Lowe in a classy dining room complete with snakes. Can't wait to see the rest of this set, I love a bit of lavish lifestyle to dream about.

This is the image everyone's been talking about. Fatima Siad, who caught the industry's eye during her time on America's Next Top Model (Cycle 10) has been chosen for the new face of Herve Leger's Spring Summer campaign, despite placing third in the competition. Fatima's skin is luminescent and the dress looks almost armour like in this shot; I love it. It's humbling to know that some of the girls from ANTM do well for themselves. Image by Max Azria.

Fingers at the ready, save this photo to your archives because this Spring 2012 campaign by D&G marks the end of the Dolce & Gabbana diffusion line. This campaign will be it's last and features models Samantha Gradoville, Patrycja Gardygajlo and Valerija Sestic alongside Simone Nobili and Alfred Kovac shot by Giampaolo Sgura. Print clashing was never off the cards anyway guys.

I had to include this campaign because Sasha Pivovarova is my favourite model of all time. I've had a folder on my laptop dedicated to her for about three years now! This Club Monaco campaign shot by Serge Leblon is said to be inspired by the California coastline, featuring Club Monaco's lightweight knits and separates perfect for spring. Sasha shares these shots with male model Casey Taylor.

If you didn't want a Prada bag before, (then first I must ask you what's wrong with you?) now you will. This new campaign contains a whole host of the world's most sought after models in the Prada Spring Summer 2012 collection. Natasha Poly, Guinevere van Seenus, Elise Crombez, Meghan Collison, Katryn Kruger and Ymre Stiekema were shot by the one and only Steven Meisel at an authentic 1950's gas station. This really is one long campaign, see the full shots here.

Elie Saab's Spring Summer editorial is a little more on the moody side, with Karlie Kloss' sultry stare taking center stage in this marigold yellow evening gown and matching bag. Shot by C├ędric Buchet.

Models Karmen Pedaru and Abbey Lee Kershaw are barely recognisable in this Gucci Spring Summer '12 campaign by Mert & Marcus. Their slick, black eye make-up turns them into powerful, fearless females stomping around a hotel room in their six inch heels and laying over lavish sofas showing off their Gucci gear. This campaign is the epitome of luxe fashion.

Uncle Terry strikes again, this time recruiting Jac Jagaciak, Lindsey Wixson and Ruby Aldridge alongside male models Josh Beech and Benjamin Eidem for Just Cavalli's Spring Summer campaign. The models sport Cavalli's signature prints in pastels and ombre with his denim transformed into lighter shade hot pants for spring, shot by Terry Richardson.

Sportmax's Spring 2012 editorial stars Frida Gustavsson in a simple, studio shot campaign. Sportmax's designs stand out as glamourous entities in front of the plain backdrop, Frida's
hair and make-up kept simple and clean. Pastels and print float around reminding us that spring's not too far away.

Roberto Cavalli's main line campaign was shot by Steven Meisel in a studio, featuring some of the world's most incredible models. None other than Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, Kristen McMenamy and Daphne Groeneveld all together. The model pack show off Cavalli's shimmering designs for Spring 2012, with swished hair and natural make-up, the girls look like they're having a gay old time.

How could I post about campaigns without mentioning Mulberry? King of ad campaigns Tim Walker shot this fairytale seaside fantasy featuring Frida Gustavsson and Lindsey Wixson. Giant ice creams, monster sticks of rock and of course, a couple of Bayswaters thrown in for good measure. Flavour of the month award goes to Mulberry.
