Healthy Winter Hair

It occurred to me just the other day that my hair goes through so much stress in winter. Because I suffer from the terrible, hereditary disease that is frizzy hair, I often straighten it to smooth out the frizz. With humidity high in autumn, I noticed that I straighten it much more often and therefore my hair takes quite a frazzling in these months. To take care of it I have developed a fuss-free beauty regime using just a few simple products.

Dove Heat Defense is my first port of call, as it provides essential protection from the blow drying and straightening I'll be doing. This stuff really works too, the shampoo in conjunction with the conditioner is a combo that I can't see myself without. It's got that classic Dove smell and a thick, opalescent formula. It has also made my hair feel significantly thicker since I started using it too! (But that's probably because it's not falling out anymore due to over-straightening!)

Poker Straight by Lee Stafford is the hair tool kit essential. I've been using it for years, mainly for it's scent until I realised I was doing my hair any damage. Spray this onto your hair before you use straighteners or even curling tongs, and it will defend your hair to the depths from the nasty heat. It creates a light mist that is then combed through before you begin styling. Be careful not to overdo it though, as this formula leaves your hair greasy if you use too much, just 2-4 sprays is enough.
